I used the skyline to position myself in the rough area that the pilot was flying and then looked for the distinctive walled field in the photo to tie in exactly where he was. The field is Posn - 55 21 18.8"N 003 47 19.2"W - below Threehope Height with the Auchenlone Burn just to the west of it, and just to the north of Upper Lagnee. The aircraft is close to Black Hill and Cairn Hill looking over Knockconey Dod tracking 300/120T probably following the A76 and the railway line, looking 030ish. The field exists today - see google Earth photo. |
