The buildings are said to have originally been the officers' mess for RAF Connel.

Oban Radio opened in 1949 but was initially in Nissen huts at the Southern edge the airfield (which had been bought by the GPO). They had an mobile emergency transmitter vehicle.

They moved to the later site about two years later so this probably precedes that move

Connel Bridge is a cantilever bridge that spans Loch Etive at Connel in Scotland. The bridge takes the A828 road across the narrowest part of the loch, at the Falls of Lora.
