Millerhill hump marshalling yards under construction. One of five major new yards in Scotland planned under the 1955 Modernisation scheme, and opened in 1962/3, the changing nature of rail freight soon rendered its state of the art facilities obsolescent. |

This photo and the adjoining ones are of Millerhill Marshalling Yard and are not a general view of Edinburgh. The map reference given is of Scone and is clearly wrong. |

Hello Class31, I've just gone through a lot of NEW images - focus on Scotland I may say - and the titles don't match the image, as with this one I agree. There are so many that I have e-mailed the 'authorities' pointing out just some rather 'glaring' errors. Nice 'talking' to you again. Ewen |
