Or, as it's known locally, Shady Lane. Much of it is overhung with trees from the Thornbridge estate and is beautifully sheltered - but very dark at night! |

This was once an all-women's teacher training college. The outbuildings were used as well as the hall itself as residential 'halls'. The Hall had its own railway station! I think it was a Mr Boot (a businessman who owned the Hall) had it built for his convenience. The railway tracks have been lifted and, like many other former railway lines, has become a very popular trail for walkers and cyclists. Now the Hall is once again privately owned and houses its own highly successful brewery. |
