Great Coates Railway Station - built by the Great Grimsby and Sheffield Junction Railway in 1848. To the East beyond Grimsby (towards left of picture) is Cleethorpes whilst in the other direction lies Barton on Humber. |

That description is true today but when this photo was taken the line ran to New Holland Pier for the ferries to Hull. There was a junction off at New Holland Town to Barton on Humber. |
