The factory of William Bate Limited, electro-platers. The photograph shows the female staff of the company decorating the works ready for Christmas circa 1935. This picture was verified as being of W'm Bate Ltd. by a Mrs Roseblade of Alexandra Road, Walsall who recognised her sister-in-law as the woman looking directly at the camera and smiling.

These buildings used to house the Borough Epidemic Hospital, hence Hospital Street. Not sure when the building fronting Hospital Street with the two pitched roofs was built as it is not shown on an OS map dated 1902. The building does appear to be part of the Epidemic Hospital however.
