Sad to say current thinking is that the building still standing at Lea Bridge is not the former stand but a later structure on almost exactly the same site. Orient displaced the amateur Leyton FC at Brisbane Road when the Council refused to renew the lease. What is not generally mentioned is that the amateurs opened the 1937-38 season at Lea Bridge so the clubs actually swapped grounds. |
