This gap in the houses in Upper Elmers End Road, is an entrance to the sports fields. The Standard Bank of South Africa (1910) was one of the owners who then sold to Nestle's (1928) who then sold to the South Suburban Co-operative Society in 1947'
That gap between houses went on to be the "other end" of Balmoral Ave, which would have houses built in 1935 +/- and a road that stopped short of the fields further to the left (off picture), |
