This is still the Gloucester Road car park, now used also used by day visitors to the Butlin's holiday camp as well as day visitors to the main sea front. |

Now part of Longbrook Park (a small council owned green space), the local Sea cadets still have their base in this area. |

These houses are still in present but are now surrounded on all but their northern boundaries by the Butlin's holiday complex! |

This would be better described as "The Esplanade, East End Car Park and environs", we are looking to the east of the Pier, we know that because it is not visible, Marine Drive is off the bottom left-hand corner of the photo. What is very interesting is this is the clearest view of the (then) little village of Felpham, in the background, at the top of the photo beyond the flag for were Butlin's is now. |
