A number of both double-deck and single-deck (open-sided 'toast-rack') electric trams can be seen in this picture. The Weston-Super-Mare tramways system opened in 1902 and was closed in 1937 to be replaced by buses. Using standard gauge track, it was just under 3 miles long.

By 1932 Weston's tramway operated eight open-topped double deck cars and six "toastrack" single deckers, the last two being delivered as recently as 1927. Almost half the fleet appear in this view.
