Falconer Hall. Mum used to play badminton here, and there were regular jumble sales. One year (early 1980s)I bought a pair of roller skates. |

Prior to 1926 Bushey Cricket Club played on the field at the corner of Falconer Road and Finch Lane, which became part of the Royal Masonic Junior School. Between 1926 and 1974, the club played their home games on the Moat Field Recreation Ground (Bournehall Lane), initially with the help of Bushey Urban Council, and I was a member of the 1st XI from 1958 until 1965. In 1975, the club decided to move to a new Multi-use sports centre at Hartspring, where they found it difficult to maintain the atmosphere traditionally associated with local cricket. Nine years later, Bushey CC moved out of the village/town for ther first time in 119 years! Since 1984, the club has settled in happily at the former Colne Valley Sports Ground, Eastbury Road, Oxhey, and is due to celebrate its 150th Anniversary in 2014. |
