The Sudbury Arms would soon occupy this site. Perhaps the hoarding is advertising the forthcoming development. The pub has now also gone, replaced by flats.

The Sudbury Town Odeon cinema would open on this site in 1935 During the '60s it was known as the Starlite Ballroom and hosted many big name rock bands. It is currently redundant and its future uncertain.
