The building on the bottom right under construction was the new central premises of the Brightside & carbrook Co-operative Society. When they started construction they discovered previously unknown foundations of Sheffield castle. the society suspended construction and altered their plans for a display of the remains to be left. The building was totally destroyed in WW2 during a bombing raid |
