The Southern end of Toton Sidings which were once one of the largest in Europe handling mainly coal. Modernised in 1939 but now much reduced in size. Once called a slaughterhouse because of the large numbers of workers killed there. Ideal location in the centre of England for its purpose.

St Lawrences Church much extended during the 19th century and grave yard not now used. An old and intresting local Long Eaton building

Long Eaton Gas Works with Gas Holders - now demolished and replaced with TESCO superstore. The Long Eaton Gas Company produced gas for the local community and chemicals for explosives during WW1 and WW2. Had a siding from the Erewash Valley Line

Erewash Valley Railway High Line opened in 1901 to divert rail traffic from Long Eaton. In WW1 trains of troops from Scotland had to wait on this line and were fed by the locals!
