Co-op grocery store. It used to have a system to transfer payment and change between those serving customers at the various counters and a cashier who was positioned separately. From memory, this was an overhead wire system with spring-loaded propulsion of the screw-on 'cups'. |

This building has seen long-term use as a GP surgery. In the 1950s/60s (at least) Doctors practicing there included Drs. Hoey, Beer and McCarthy. |

Longton Cemetery. The Chapel stands at the centre, and the Registrar occupied the Lodge by the main gates opposite St. Gregory's School. Dennis Bowers was Registrar here during the 1960s and beyond. |
