Mumps Bridge - demolished between 2010-2011 to make way for the Metrolink expansion, was an iconic Oldham landmark. It's name 'Mumps' was apparently derived from the word 'Mumper', which etymogically translates as 'Beggar'.

Mumps Bazzar was the precursor to the modern superstore in the fact that it sold everything under one roof.

This is Wallshaw Mill, demolished in 1933. The site was then cleared for a massive new bus garage built for Oldham Corporation and officially opened in 1938, a building which still exists today.
