The original "Hull Royal Infirmary" seen from the skies, what a grand building it looks compared to the sterile 1960's replacement on Anlaby Road today.

The old Infirmary may look grand,,but it does not look very clean ,neither does it look sterile...

Looking at old maps of Hull City Centre in the past, I was always fascinated by the "Master Marinas Almshouses", as it looked on plan a large building. Here it is in it's full glory. What a great photo, so many buildings that haven't survived to the present day.

The post-war Cecil cinema was built on the site of the Mariners' Hospital, diagonally across the road junction from the bombed, pre-war Cecil.

I work in that area in the 70s,, it really was the back and beyond of Hull city center in those days.. I t never recovered from the church been destroyed..
