The core of Westwood House dates from about 1600. It was built for the Packington family, who gained the estate in the time of Henry VIII. There was previously a nunnery on the site. The house is now divided up into at least twelve apartments

I may have the towers wrongly annotated. The British Listed Buiodings site gives Heron Tower as sited in the SE and Falcon Tower in the NW. But then confudsingly states that the two westernmost towers have been demolished. Judging by the shadows in this shot I have assumed the road through the gatehouse to Westwood House runs in from the South

The driveway to the house actually runs in from the south east. The two tower houses are respectively SSE and ENE from their respective wings

This is a gem. It is up there with the best and yet relatively unknown.
