My early memories of these works about 1952 are when derelict and partly dismantled. I have made drawings from memory of how the works were then. In 1956 I gained entry into the engine house, it was complete and untouched. The men had shut down the Turbines etc and just left everything as it was back in 1932? My description of the machinery etc was sent to Black Country Bugle and was published about 5years back as a readers letter. My recollections of this site are clear and extensive and valuable to me. |
