This is the 'temporary' library (formerly the temporary chapel) that was finally removed after the new library was built in 1929. I believe the removed library building can now be seen as part of an engineering workshop in King's Road.

Anyone know what is the one storey building set up in the quad of Selwyn behind the main entrance? It's certainly not there now!

Oxford has quads, Cambridge has courts!

It looks like a marquee.

It was a temporary structure. I think it housed the porters at one time. I seem to recall reading about it in Selwyn College: A History, available from the college for the bargain price of £1.00! http://www.sel.cam.ac.uk/alumni/125bookwebpage.html

Selwyn College is shown right in the centre of this photo (buildings around a quad)
