The Valetta was a military development of the Viking civil airliner. It was used for freight transport, supply dropping, trooping, glider towing and as an ambulance. The Varsity was a further development for training navigators and bomb aimers. Its most obvious difference was a tricycle undercarriage and a pannier underneath the fuselage which housed a small bomb bay and a prone bomb aiming position. |
