It can't be the R101 because of the date of the photo (1952). It looks far more like the Bournemouth as seen here and the dates fit: www.airshipsonline.com/airships/Bournmouth/index.htm |

Having read the comment about it being the bournemouth and watching the British Pathe News clip of it crashing on the roof of one of the Cardington Hangers when a guy rope snagged, I'd agree that there's no doubt that it is the Bournemouth. |
