his looks like it might be the Ashbury coaching stock brake conversion/reconversion, which eventually ended up going to the Bluebell Railway. I can't think of anything else with a similar double window. |

This was the steam shed for the several steam locos still used on the Met at the time and until 1971 for departmental purposes. |

Yes, of course. It would have been O and P at that time, before they were converted. |

These look like gas holders. In the earliest days of the Met, the carriages were lit by coal gas, which was stored (somewhat hazardously one supposes) in large rubberised bags located in the roof area of the carriages.
However, this method of lighting would have been abandoned in about 1905 when the Met was mostly electrified. Coal gas might well have been a by-product of the coal-fired electrical generation that took place at Neasden, but I am not clear what it would have been used for at this date. |

Oil, I would suggest. Why bunds otherwise? |

Quite possibly oil storage, Jaycee. There are pipes leading to the generating station. It was a coal fired generating station, but perhaps the oil is to lubricate the turbines. |

First 'F' stock in service on the Met was Feb. 1951. I am struggling to identify some of the other cars stabled there as 'F' stock because the roof patterns and windows. Some look like 'T' stock. |

The two roads in which they are stabled are known as Klondyke Sidings. They were commonly used for the stabling of the loco-hauled mainline formations. |
