Northampton Castle station, on a loop off the West Coast main line. At one time it was one of the three stations in the town, but after the others had closed in 1939 and 1964, it became just 'Northampton'.

St John's Station was closed July 1939, and trains diverted to bay platforms at Northampton Castle station via Northampton Bridge Street station - the latter closed to passengers in 1964, after which the Castle station became plain 'Northampton'.
