Tram about to enter the new one way traffic system that was introduced for The Festival of Britain and constructed during 1950. The car will proceed a few more yards down Westminster Bridge Road, then turn left into York Road and addington Street and back round to Westminster Bridge Road. Trams in the opposite direction turn left down Lambeth Palace Road round into Stangate and left again onto Westminster Bridge. This was the last piece of tramway laid in London, that is until the Croydon Tramlink which started operation in 2000.
