Privett Railway Station - on the Meon Valley line which ran from Alton to Fareham. Opened 1903, closed 1955. There seems to be a carriage drive from Basing Park to the railway station - the station is too large for such a countryside location, and may have been for the local squire, who insisted on the station name. The Privett Tunnel, which we can see in this image, was 1000 yards.
