Semi-circular remnant of tarmaced road with pavement.
Was told that this was the then terminus of the Trams (although should have been Trolley Buses) where they turned round as this was the city boundary.
There was another tram and then trolley bus terminus at the Swan. Corner of building now replaced with the one occupied by Farm Foods. Cobbled surface, Glass covered shelter, wall sign mentioning 'Trolley buses'. Survived until 1980's. |

PUB....(now demolished).... next to this was a shop that made and repaired leather goods, from belts to complete saddles. Cannot remember name of gentleman who owned it but remember him saying that he was puzzled how a weighted leather 'ball' had burst.. This 'ball' was the shape of a rugby ball suspended top and bottom on long springs/rods from a frame. It was used to test strengthened glass sheets (possibly windscreens) (perhaps at TRIPLEX). The glass should have shattered long before any damage to the 'ball'. |
