Steam Locomotive - at Rickmansworth they took on the trains from London hauled by electric locomotives (to avoid smoke and steam in the central London tunnels. Trains heading into London swapped steam locos for the electric ones.

Railway line from Watford to Rickmansworth Church Street, closed and lifted in 1967. More recently much of the track bed has been made into a walking and cycling route known as Ebury Way.
