PS Cardiff Queen( or maybe Bristol Queen) under tow up river. Still almost new! Log books in Bristol Archive will explain why she is being towed.
Cardiff Queen had wooden bridge front Bristol Queen all metal bridge front.
If its Bristol Queen she is returning from trials having been launched at Charles Hills. I have original Areo Films print of her going down river on her way out to Bristol Channel for trials. |

Aerofilms ref. for this print is A15137 Bristol. I have a copy in front of me as I write this. Looking at print with a magnifier the steamer has a dark bridge front which means its the CARDIFF QUEEN April is very early for a steamer to be in service, the date of the photograph may wrong or the steamer has been in dry dock at Avonmouth or on test in the channel. Cardiff Queen entered service in July for the 1948 season. |
