Gorringe Park School. Note repaired bomb damage to roof and lots of air-raid shelters in playground. I will never forget the smells from the laundry and bakery that pervaded the school. The same bombing raid that damaged the RACS buildings and school also blew out the windows of 35 Graham Road nearby. I was there, under the Morrison shelter, and can recall the noises of that night. |
