This cinema was opened as the Belmont in 1939. The name was soon changed to the Plaza. In 1950 it became the Essoldo and survived until 1967, when it briefly became a bingo hall before it was demolished. It is now the site of a small and rather ugly Tesco store. |

Elmgrove Road. The row of Elm trees followed the line of the fence to Hamilton's Sports field. Just the other side of the fence (not visible due to the trees) was a row of air raid shelters. |

This was a coffin manufacturer's at the end of Herga Road, Wealdstone. In the 1960's it became a storage depot for Schweppes. |

The title to this frame is slightly wrong. Hamilton's Brush Factory is the complex of buildings (the triangular shape) to the left of the picture. The entrance was from Rosslyn Crescent which I have marked. The factory complex in the centre of the picture (the oblong shape) was the Sheet Metal Works, the company name escapes me, but the entrance to this factory was from Elmgrove road. |
