Additional comment: Though it looks white, it was possibly painted light blue like the Battersea MAN gasholder was. In some lighting conditions, Battersea definitely looked white, so ...

L.N.E.R line from the south (East Coast mainline) joins the L.M.S one from Leeds. Nowadays this line is no more as it has been diverted to join the Leeds line south of Selby to avoid the new coal fields.
