Clubmoor Railway Station (Cheshire Lines North Liverpool Extension Line) - The station was opened in 1927 to serve the new housing in this area.It was quite popular for excursions to Southport during the summer months but other paasenger traffic was not greatly supported. The line north from Gateacre to Aintree was closed to scheduled passenger services in 1960 - The only paasenger trains to be seen passing through Clubmoor station after this year were Grand National specials. The last Grand National special used this CLC route in 1966.
