This block of Halton Mansions (block including flat 68 where my grandfather and great grandfather had previously lived) was heavily damaged on 17th Sept 1940 during the Blitz. The Halton Mansions Shelter was underneath nearby and 9 were killed in the explosion. This block must have been rebuilt shortly afterwards and appears newer than the other surrouding buildings.
