Top end of The Wood, before the Woodfarm estate was built. This would later be close to the junction with Brookwood Drive.

Bottom end of The Wood, Meir. The road remained unadopted and unmade until sometime in the 1980s(?). The housing was a varied mixture of houses, bungalows and what can only be described as shacks. When the road was finally made up, each household has to fund the work done on the frontage of the individual property. The top end of The Wood made a junction with Brookwood Drive, almost opposite the latter's junction with Stanton Road, where The Thorley P.H. stood.

Air raid shelters for staff and what possibly looks like either a water tower or an observation/flak tower
