WAS A DEMOB CENTRE TILL ABOUT LATE 40'S EARLY 50'S THEN TAKEN OVER BY LITTLEWOODS(CAT)WHO I THINK STILL OWN IT.

USED TO PLAY IN THE LODGE 'FISHING-FINDING BULLETS-GUNS-GRENADES AND ALL SORTS OF ARMY RUBBISH.OF COURSE WE USED TO HAND THEM INTO THE POLICE.

Honeywell Mill (cotton, but out of use by 1939). Later used as shoe factory, but burned down in 1955, site now (2013) occupied by Park Cake Bakeries).
