I'm curious about this. I spent 5 years at RAF Locking in the 1980's and much of the estate I knew then is visible in this photo. We always understood that there was never an airfield at Locking itself, flying always being from the nearby W-S-M airfield. Yet this photo shows apparently complete aircraft at Locking, presumably for dismantling, with no sign of either an airfield or suitable taxi/towing routes from the airfield. |

I had a master at school in the 50's who had flown Lyslanders at locking during WW2. |

The scrapyard containing mostly Beaufort or Beaufighter fuselages. Stored aircraft were on the opposite side of the building. |
