Carville Station which was part of the now defunct Riverside Branch. You can still go along parts of the original rail line as they have been repurposed as public footpaths etc. |

'The Western,' (a separate boys and girls school in the 1960s and earlier) as it used to be known became Western First School and Middle School until amalgamation, Subsequently, Western Community Primary School was built on the sports field across Rutland Road in 2002-2003. The School was 'formally,' opened in January 2004. |

RAF Lonbenton (part of 33 group - barrage balloons). The balloon sheds were clearly visible from our house in Station Rd. Later bought by Newcastle University and demolished, apart from the gatehouse, still extant 2014. |
