On the left hand side, about a quarter of the way from the top, can be seen a large house in amongst some woodland. It's St Ann's (St Anne's) between Dollymount and Clontarf. The house is no longer there, but the park with its many follies still is. Here's another image of it: http://images.ratemyarea.com.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/0279/8097/stannesyd7_large.jpg?picture=2798097 A discussion of the house and park can be found here: http://archiseek.com/forum/topic/st-annes-park-clontarf-restoration/ Also there's more information here: http://www.askaboutireland.ie/learning-zone/primary-students/5th-+-6th-class/geography/aspects-of-raheny/how-is-this-place-changin/high-above/ |
