Imbeciles Asylum at Leavesden. Yellow brick pavilion-plan buildings, 1868-70 by Messrs. J Giles & Biven for the Metropolitan Asylums Board. Housed persons with senile dementia and learning difficulties. In 1920 the institution became known as the Leavesden Mental Hospital.
