My father and his brother were pupils at the Metropolitan Police Orphanage up till 1937. Thank you for adding this so I could find it easily!

Situated next to Fulwell railway station [LSWR and later SR] and between Stanley and Wellington Roads, Fulwell tram depot was built in 1902 by London United Tramways and was the hub of that systems operations. In 1931 it became the first of London's Trolleybus depots when LUT began operating routes 1 - 5 using 60 6 wheeled double deck buses [nicknamed Diddlers].Later in 1948 Fulwell operated the 8ft wide Q1's which, when London decided to run down trolleybus operations, were sold off to various systems in Spain. Following the end of electric traction on 8th May 62 diesel buses operated out of Fullwell which now was known as Fulwell Garage.
