The shed is no St Phillips Marsh it's Barrow Road. Dad was based there and me and my mates used to sit on Days Road Bridge.

The school is the Bristol Technical School (Building). It was set up just before WW2 and closed in about the mid 60's. It taught boys who had failed their 11 plus from the age of 12 to 16/17 building construction, theory and practice along side normal subjects. It was the finest school in Bristol and many boys became apprendices in the trade or building surveyors. A great shame it closed.

Midland Railway Bristol St Phillip's Station. I understand that there was a 'link' at the eastern end of Easton Road, with the Great Western Railway that allowed local passenger trains services between St Phillips and Redland and Clifton Down. It was a short-lived and too expensive link.

Re the alleged number of Jubilees allocated 'in 1948' and the website source. My source is official, internal railway advice documents. I can't make anyone believe the website is incorrect, but I think official records tend to be more reliable than such sources!

The description of the railway items is incorrect. It should be St.Philip's Goods Shed and Barrow Road Engine Shed. St.Philips Marsh Goods Shed and Engine Shed are NOT shown here.

Also, it is stated that there were 58 steam locos allocated "in 1948". When in 1948? The total varied during 1948 as: 55, 56, 55, 57, 58, 59, 58, 59, 57, 49, 58 , 59 and 60!

Similarly the number of Jubilee class locos allocated varied as: 9, 8, 9, 8, 10, 9 and 10.
