Ex-LNER Gresley A4 Pacific streamlined locomotive in Gateshead loco sheds. This class of locomotive was used to haul East Coast Express trains between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh during the 1940s and 1950s. Locos in the class were allocated to one of the three loco sheds here at Gateshead, at Kings Cross and at Edinburgh Waverley. |
