' In the 40s & 50s possibly earlier this was Hewison's papershop on Ellison St/Lyon St corner. The photo from my website www.oldtyneside.co.uk shows the property. It certainly didn't have that horrible mock Tudor paintwork originally. I think it was just added in the 60s or 70s & looked totally out of place in an Industrial area.. '
