' Theatre Royal - Ilkeston's first purpose built theatre, replacing an earlier wooden structure on Rutland Street. The architect was W Dymock Pratt of Nottingham.; The builder was William Savage of Nottingham. Opened on Monday, 23 December 1895. The first owner was H Vincent Clarke. The building was subsequently Vint's Electric Picturedrome (1911-16); The Coliseum (1916-27); The Theatre Royal (1927-30) and then replaced by the New Theatre (1931-63). Later use was a bingo hall, carpet warehouse, place of worship. Finally demolished and now a nursing home is on the site. '
