' The original (southern) wing of the Green Man pub may have been built in the 16th century (pictured here in 1864: http://www.history-in-pictures.co.uk/store/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=3438). It was torn down and rebuilt as flats in approximately the same shape with new materials in 2015 or so. A great loss. It was part of a tiny hamlet at the brow of the hill just outside the deer park. An extant 18th century building is next door to the site and another across the street '
