Workshops of Wells Aviation Co. Ltd., during WWI.
Founded in April, 1916 by sculptor and ceramicist, Reginald Wells (1877-1951), the works address was listed as 10A Elystan Street, with the company offices on the adjoining Whiteheads Grove.
Wells was the British agent for Benoist Flying Boats and was sub-contracted to manufacture Sopwith 1½ Strutters, and briefly, the Vickers FB12 pusher.
Insolvent by late 1917, the business was acquired by the Chelsea Aviation Company in June 1918. '
