' My Granma Birhenough worked in the hip shop it was opposite fred the barbers accross the road that was not a good day to go to the barbers didnt have much hair left after the famous short back and sides. not to forget the ton of brilcream he put on after. so going to the chip shop made you forget about the hair cut. as we became 21 we was allowed in the pub for a drink, the crown inn was the main pub. remember the film of cigarette smoke let alone the works smog outside. use to sit in the geriatric room as we called it were les use to play the piano, had some good times and laughs in there.
