macdonalds coopers? ended up alloa coopers.1971 to74 owned by w.lawsons coatbridge whisky worked there for 3 years made and repaired whisky barrels ,app.10 coopers worked there.paid per barrel(pbr)no work no pay me and a few could make £70 p.w.big money then.hard graft great place to work.coopers ally paterson -john gillfilan-pancho-jock fyffe-jim mcdade-f dawson-c harrower-stotty bits?-geordy mcdonald.jock skelton gaffer,closed and moved to coatbridge

originaly pearsons cooperage .then youngers brewery cooperage. wg scott bought it to make and repair whisky barrels large cooperage for its time employed app.20 coopers and 6 labourers went bankrupt 1967.me. ally paterson kenny drysdale and john gillfilan were apprentices. prior to this w.g.scott had sunnyside cooperage in greenfield st i started my app.there.he employed 8 coopers 1 labourer.wully scott was agood boss loved working at scotts

Old iron bridge crossing the railway line. I remember seeing one of the last gas lamps lit on this bridge in the mid 1950's when I visited my granny in Lime Street nearby. The "man with the "leerie" lit the gas mantle with a long pole!

Jack Carberry's ice cream and sweetie shop. Jack Junior would sell ice cream from a tub attached to the front of his bike. It had a parasol on the bike in the summer!
