Looks like a row of chicken houses built off the ground.

The patchwork of plants would suggest a market garden. There are several people working in the fields

I think that this is a Great Western toad brake van with GW on the side. The goods train is running along a double track line.

Yes this is a 'Toad'. The train is possible quite short as the three (two and a half showing) vehicles at the front are cattle wagons, while the others are a mixture of vans and opens. Why short? Cattle wagons were normally marshalled at the front of goods trains ... unless they are empties.

This location is a sewage works just south of the site of Broadway station. GWR railway line to Cheltenham. Ref OS 1:25000 map No.03

Not sure why a gas holder here, but you can still see the square location on Google earth. The sewage works is much bigger now.

Hi Graeme,

Thanks for spending time on this image. You may be interested to know that the original Aerofilms Ltd Register entry reads "Severn Valley Gas Corp.Ltd. Cheltenham Gass Works", on of those misleading but not entirely un-related entries that we come across. We'll update the catalogue and post the new data here in due course.

I've just had a look at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway website where they have an appeal open for funds to enable them to reopen their preserved steam railway northwards to Broadway so that they have a railway from Cheltenham Racecourse to Broadway which includes the section of line in this photograph. See http://www.gwsr.com/bridges-to-broadway/bridges-to-broadway.aspx for full details. I was interested to see that the project is known as Bridges to Broadway and the bridge at Pry lane is mentioned in the report as follows "Bridge 3 - Pry Lane: in good condition, this small brick arch bridge needs relatively minor work. Expected cost: £18,000"

Well spotted Graeme. It all fits together. The Evesham RDC Sewage Works, the single gasholder, Pry Lane and the Honeybourne to Cheltenham line of the Great Western Railway complete with a passing goods train. Excellent.
